Irrigation, Lakes, & Fountains
If and when you may spot an alligator, please feel free to call the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) at 912-262-3173. It's best to call them right away so that they may come out, find, and remove the alligator vs someone else calling them later when the alligator may not be found.
The timer for the fountain in lagoon #1 is 10am-9:30pm.
Our irrigation water is provided for free via the lake and a pump system that is shared with the apartment complex next door. We share the costs of the pump (electricity, repairs, etc.) with the apartment complex.
The sprinklers are stationary and full coverage. They put out a lot of water in a short amount of time. Please note that overwatering may lead to lawn fungus. Larger areas are watered for 20 minutes and smaller areas are watered for 10 minutes during the peak of summer. Due to the sandy soil, it is recommended that the time be split into two back to back cycles.
Keep in mind that most, if not all, of our lawns are dormant from around Nov-Mar. They don't really need much, if any, irrigation during that time. Seasonal rain should be sufficient.
For example:
-
Cycle #1 (6:30am)
-
Front = 10 min
-
Side = 5 min
-
Back = 10 min
-
-
Cycle #2 (7am)
-
Front = 10 min
-
Side = 5 min
-
Back = 10 min
